Are You Getting The Most The Use Of Your Item Upgrading?

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. This bonus could be greater than the damage that an upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons can also alter the stats of their base. While this is usually beneficial however, it could have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase its defense base while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.

You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide the player with a temporary effect. There are five different types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by making them on a table or in the chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potions you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2.  item upgrading , for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display. The potion table can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't essential as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to express friendship or affection between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. One can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should also take into account the preferred statistics of their class. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
